We have used 360 degree cameras to capture footage of real farms and rural landscapes to create unique environments that allow viewers and players to interact with reality virtually. Interaction with embedded resources encourage players to test their knowledge, about on-farm biodiversity, and learn whilst having fun. To achieve this we will use gaming technology, and concepts termed gamification: this is the process of applying gaming strategies to a non-gaming environments to increase active engagement, motivate and entertain the participants. Serious games (by that we mean its primary purpose is other than entertainment) have been shown to aid natural learning by interaction with information.
We have created three games centred around different farming systems in different countries in German, Czech and English languages. The games concentrate on the Farm clusters developed in each country in collaboration with the Framework H2020 project. We invite you to play the games (navigation tips are given with each game) and please complete the embedded feedback surveys to help develop future resources.
